Just a reminder that this coming Thursday October 21st will be our school picture day! Please make sure to comb your child's hair and dress him/her neatly, preferably with bright, solid colors. Fall Field Trip to Whittamore's Farm (Steeles and Markham Rd.)

We are delighted to report that all of our students are settling in nicely to a new school year and arrive at school bright-eyed and enthusiastic, ready to learn! We are pleased to announce our first school field trip will take place on Friday October 1st from 10am to noon at Whittamore's Farm (Steeles and Markham Rd.) All students at RCCS from Preschool to School-aged children are all welcome to attend. Parents and Grandparents are also more than welcome to join us for a day of fun on the farm. A visit with the farm animals, a wagon ride through the forest, and a cornstalk maze are among the fun activities you have to look forward to.
The cost per person is $7.50, taxes included. Please provide payment to your child's teacher no later than Friday September 24, 2010. Please also pray for a beautiful, sunny day! (Last year we had fun in the rain but we'd love for some fun in the sun this year.)
God Bless You All,
Teacher Jean

Rock School 2010 Video Presentation
Thank you to all the parents who attended our information night this evening. For those of you who were unable to make it, we will be holding another information night before our July 1 registration deadline. To obtain all the information that was covered, including a copy of the brochure outlining all of the fees and staffing for 2010, please speak to either one of us. Also, for your enjoyment, here is the video presentation that we prepared for you all to celebrate our first year as a school. Praise the Lord for blessing us far beyond all that we could ask or think!

Fall 2010 Enrolment and Information Night - Thursday April 29, 2010 @ 7:30 p.m.
Dear Parents,
Our first year of Rock Community Christian School has been more blessed than we could have imagined. The students' outstanding academic achievement is truly only the beginning. We've enjoyed the privilege of studying God's Word together and watching the children hide countless life-giving verses in their hearts. Beginning each day with praise and worship puts us in the right mind set and seeing the children seek God's presence throughout the day makes everything we're doing worthwhile. The Lord's Spirit is undeniably present among us both in and out of the classroom. Even our field trips and our Christmas play were so blessed in ways that we couldn't have prepared on our own.
Preschool for 2-3 year olds, will continue in September. It will continue to be twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Junior Kindergarten will also be twice a week, all day Tuesday and Thursday.
Senior Kindergarten and Grade One will be four days a week, Tuesday to Friday.
Information regarding curriculum, fees, schedule, staff, and extra-curricular activities will all be available at our first information session on Thursday April 29th at 7:30-8:30 p.m.
If you are interested in sending your child, or just want to hear what we're planning, please do come and hear/see what we have to share. Feel free to pass along the message to any friends or family who might be interested in attending our information session as well.
God bless,
Teacher Jen

Spring News!
Dear Parents,
We hope you are enjoying the surprisingly warm weather that we've been granted this first week of our March Break! As we gear up for our final term of school we are happy to announce that our JK's have already met their end-of-year grade-level expectations in both language and mathematics. We will be spending the last couple of months of school re-inforcing those rapidly developing reading skills and pushing forward with some new concepts in mathematics.
Our SK's are also right on track with their reading, writing, and math skills. We have assigned several pages of math homework for the SK's to practice all the addition skills that they have been learning over the last several months.
Ever since the New Year, all the kids have become somewhat rusty with their weekly memory verses...especially the French ones! We encourage you to continue to practice these with your little ones...even just once a day for 2 to 3 minutes will really help them hide these words in their hearts forever.
Last but not least, we are pleased to announce that Rock Community Christian School will be moving forward with a new school year in the fall! We will be accepting enrolment in the near future for JK to Grade 1. Grade 1 and SK will be four days a week (Tuesday-Friday) while the JK class will continue twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Our Preschool will also continue to operate in the fall as well. Stay tuned for a school information session that will be held early this spring where you can ask all of your questions.
God Bless you all and see you all next week at March in Motion!
